Well the Cedar Rapids race has been called because of the flooding in IA. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost everything. We are going to take this weekend off also and begin preparing for the Grundy ASA MT race Sunday June 22. Hope to see ya there. Keep The Faith!

An up and down day at the Dells Raceway Park. HWR went into the Dells race with some confidence in what we have been working on together as a team. We went back to our Jefferson package and were pretty close. Adam's car had some more mechanical bugs with an engine missfire that we chased for a couple sessions in practice and then some handling issues that were never resolved. Hopefully sometime soon we will be able to give Adam what he needs to be competative everywhere. Blake's hot rod was pretty decent all day, qualified 2nd and in the heat the car was tight, so I made 2 adjustments to the car and should have only made 1. As a result to the changes the car was to loose and Blake spun and went to the rear never to regain track position and finished 19th. The team will take this weekend off to prepare for the ASA MT race in Cedar Rapids, IA on Friday June 13th.

Well we went back to GSS yesterday for the Memorial Day 100 and it was a bad day. We chased the car all day never got it to turn. We are glad to have tested that package so that I know never to take it again. Now we have 5 days to prepare for the ASA MT at the Dells Raceway Park on Sunday. See ya there!

HWR Jefferson recap. Blake set a New Track Record on qualifying!!
Blake Horstman literally blew away the competition as he not only set a new fast time of 13.729 seconds, but also set a new track record beating Dan Lensing’s record of 13.815 seconds. Matt Kocourek qualified second with a lap time of 13.775 seconds.
“That’s pretty awesome, I never expected it, I’ll tell you that,” Horstman stated. “I thought I was struggling a little in practice. I don’t know, we got lucky and got two good laps.”
Adam had a great run also qualifying 10th on his first lap, the second one got a little messed up or he would have been in the top 5 also I think.
The race started with Hensel on the pole and he ran up front for 50 laps until getting trapped behind a lapped car and getting freight trained to the 14th. Adam would finish 12th on the lead lap great run in his first ASA start. Blake started 10th after the invert and ran really well the whole race and finished 5th. That is our first top five in the ASA series we are pretty happy with the Jefferson performance.
Plans for the Memorial weekend are go to GSS on Monday for the WCS race.
May 7, 2008HWR is going to take this weekend off to prepare for the next ASAMT race in Jefferson, WI on May 17th. The team has a bunch of repairs to do after MIS. Practice went ok on Sun I thought that both cars had a good shot to make the race. We made some mistakes with Adam's car before qualifying that probably cost him a spot in the show. Blake ran well in the A-main and that is what we needed to get the team on track to move forward. April 28, 2008
HWR is busy preparing for the 2nd race of the season at Madison,WI this Sun May 4th, 2008 with the ASA Midwest Tour. We will have 2 cars there with Blake in one and dirt late model shoe Adam Hensel of Barron, WI in the other. The WCS race at the Dells was cancelled last Sat, so we went to MIS to test for this Sun. The test went well we worked out some bugs on Adam's ride and Blake's car ran well. Sponsorship is still available on both cars if you are interested in helping us out contact me. See ya in MIS!
